Byotrol names new Chief Executive Officer as David Traynor moves to Executive Chairman

Byotrol plc has today announced a change of leadership, as Vivan Pinto has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. David Traynor, who has been Byotrol’s Chief Executive Officer since 2014, moves into the new role of Executive Chairman.

John Langlands, Byotrol’s Non-Executive Chairman since February 2017, has notified the Board of his wish to retire from business and to step-down as Chairman and as a Director of Byotrol. John will initially remain as a Non-Executive Director to aid the leadership transition, but will then retire as a Director on 31st January 2023, having completed 6 years of service.

Commenting on his retirement, John Langlands said, “I have certainly enjoyed my time as Chairman of Byotrol, but with the pandemic now subsiding and the Byotrol team and its technologies so much improved, it is the right time for me to step-down. I will remain a supportive shareholder and will continue to offer the team advice where I can.”

David Traynor began his career at Byotrol with the inception of Byotrol Consumer Products in 2007, subsequently becoming Chief Executive Officer of Byotrol plc in October 2013. In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman, David will now focus on securing and developing intellectual property agreements and commercial alliances for the Company.

David commented on the changes, recognising both John’s contribution to the company and his faith in Vivan for the future, “I am looking forward to taking over as Chairman of the Company and handing the CEO reins across to Vivan Pinto. Vivan has had a big impact on our business so far and has an excellent track record of building healthy businesses at all operational levels.”

“We are very grateful to John for his excellent contribution to the Company through some extraordinary times and wish him every happiness in his retirement. We will certainly miss his calm, pragmatic and good-humoured presence in the Company.”

Byotrol’s new Chief Executive Officer, Vivan Pinto, joined the business in January 2022 as Chief Growth Officer and has since been responsible for the management of the consumer and professional sales divisions.

Vivan came to Byotrol from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, where he was Area Managing Director for Africa. He has previously worked for a variety of large blue chip organisations and in private equity, in the UK, Eastern and Western Europe, India and Africa. Vivan’s previous roles have included marketing, commercial, business development, investing, and general management. He will begin his new role with immediate effect.

Addressing the changes, Vivan was enthusiastic about the future of the company, “Byotrol has built an exceptional base of technology platforms, the most recent of which we launched last week at the London Vet Show.  I know we can bring those technologies to more customers in more geographies and I am looking forward to making it happen.”
