Byotrol Wins Big at the Chemicals Northwest Awards

Beating competition from throughout the region, last night Byotrol won the prestigious 2017 SME Manufacturer award from Chemicals Northwest. The award recognises how a small company has demonstrated excellence in developing and bringing its products to market as well as contributing to the wider chemical industry.

This latest achievement recognises years of dedicated research and development by Byotrol, resulting in the launch of PAS 2424, a laboratory test method which validates residual antimicrobial efficacy, mirroring the actual conditions in which a product will be challenged in daily life.

By sponsoring the development of the PAS, Byotrol has demonstrated leadership within its sector, and provides existing and potential customers with additional confidence and trust in its products. Validating long-lasting claims under the new European biocides regulations will now be made simpler for any organisation involved with biocidal technology; any organisation using the PAS will be able to substantiate – to their customers, industry and regulators – claims that the product works exactly as they say it does.

PAS 2424 has already been acknowledged both in Europe and the United States, this has stimulated the process to initiate the development of long-lasting antimicrobial test methodologies across the globe.

Byotrol’s Chief Executive Officer, David Traynor was delighted to win the award,

‘We are really pleased to be recognised by Chemicals Northwest in this way. We believe that excellent science needs to be at the core of all we do in the antimicrobial world, be it innovation, formulation or testing protocols. We hope that this new methodology for residual testing will now benefit everyone from chemical suppliers, to laboratories, to end users across the business and consumer worlds.’

The award was presented as the region’s £10bn chemicals industry celebrated its achievements last night at the 2017 Chemicals Northwest Awards, with the event showcasing the leading North West firms in the sector at a black-tie dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the heart of Liverpool’s city centre.
