Byotrol Technology Limited takes your privacy very seriously. This privacy notice is intended to explain how we use any personal information we collect and your rights in relation to this data.

Our personal information handling policies and procedures have been developed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable national law.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect personal data about you when you interact with us and when you purchase goods and services from us. Personal data that is processed by ourselves includes:-

  • Your e-mail address (this may be a home e-mail address or a work e-mail address depending on which you provide us with)
  • Your address (this may be a home address or a work address depending on which you provide us with)
  • Your job title
  • Your payment and delivery details when purchases are made from ourselves
  • Information related to the browser or device you use to access our website
  • Internet browsing and operating systems
    And/or any other information that you may provide

How will we use this information?

Byotrol processes the personal data detailed above for the following purposes:

  • as required to establish and fulfil a contract with you. This may include verifying your identity, processing orders including taking payments, communicating with you, providing customer services and arranging the delivery of products. We require this information in order to enter into a contract with you and are unable to do so without it;
  • to comply with applicable laws and regulations;
  • we may use information you provide to personalise our communications to you including specific relevant marketing, promotional, or other information; and to personalise our products for you, in accordance with our legitimate interests,
  • to monitor use of our website. We may use your information to help us check, improve and protect our products, content, and website in accordance with our legitimate interests;
  • if you provide a credit or debit card, we may also use third parties (such as POS payment providers) to check the validity of the sort code, account number and card number you submit in order to prevent fraud, in accordance with our legitimate interests and those of third parties;
  • We may also send you direct marketing in relation to relevant products and services. Electronic direct marketing will only be sent where there is an existing legitimate interest, where you have given your consent to receive it, or (where this is allowed) you have been given an opportunity to opt-out. You will continue to be able to opt-out of electronic direct marketing at any time by following the instructions in the relevant communication.

With whom will we share your personal data?

We may share your personal data with third parties for the purposes of fulfilling a contract with you. This may include the below third parties:

  • our suppliers, business partners and sub-contractors where they have agreed to process your personal data in line with this Privacy Notice
  • professional advisors such as our legal and financial advisors and our auditors,
  • search engine and web analytics.

Personal data may be shared with government authorities and/or law enforcement officials if required for the purposes above, if mandated by law or if needed for the legal protection of our legitimate interests in compliance with applicable laws.

How long is personal data kept?

We will not keep your personal information for any purpose for longer than is necessary and will only retain the personal information that is necessary. We are also required to retain certain information as required by law or for as long as is reasonably necessary to
meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our terms and conditions.

Where you are a customer, we will keep your information for the length of any contractual relationship you have with us and after that for the period of time necessary to maintain effective traceability of product in the event of a product recall and in accordance with applicable legislation.

Where you are a prospective customer and you have expressly consented to us contacting you, we will only retain your data until you unsubscribe from our communications; while you interact with us; or for a period of 12 months from when you last interacted with us or our content.

Access to your information and correction

It is a requirement of GDPR that you are able to control your personal information. To the extent allowed by applicable law, you have the right to request a copy of your personal information that we maintain in our systems and databases and, where appropriate, request that we update, correct, or delete your personal information, or that we no longer contact you. Such requests shall be processed within the time frames as specified by applicable law.
